Customer Question: When I use the PCMtuner ECU programmer, the device displays "Unable to use the selected interface (J2534: Scanmatik - SM2 USB)" as shown in the picture, what should I do?

A: Attention please PCMtuner has 2 power supply: USB communication cable & PCB power supply cable. Many users tend to just plug the USB cable but not main cable, that's the reason why computer failed to connection.

Q: Why PCMtuner can identify ECU successfully, but failed to find device when click "Read"?

A: In this case, simply plug & unplug the power supply cable once.

Q: Why my PCMtuner account displays "unactivated"?

A: Account will be activated 24 hours after the application is submitted, please wait patiently.

Q: Why the device cannot find PCM Dongle or PCMtuner?

Please notice not upgrade PCMflash 1.20 to above version in V1.25 PCMtuner software. Or else, this may cause "PCM Tuner Device not found!" error, failed to identify PCMtuner Dongle or to do any read and write jobs.

Solution

1. For upgrade misoperation, uninstall then re-install PCMflash 1.20;

2. If the error still exits for other cases, unplug & re-plug PCMtuner Dongle, then restart PCMtuner ECU programmer.

1. PCMtuner supports more ECU models including Bosch, Hitachi, Denso, Mitsubushi MH, etc. FC200 mainly supports Bosch ECU.
2. PCMtuner supports to program more gearbox models like Toyota, Ford, Honda while FC200 does not.
3. PCMtuner supports more paid functions like virtual reading, turner account to do dpf, egr, adblue and remap while FC200 does not.

Solved: PCMflash "Unable to Use Selected Interface" Issue

Problem: The V1.24 PCMtuner is unable to recognizll are unactivated. The PCMflash prompts: " Unable to use selected interface(J2534: Scanmatik - SM2 USB). Check if it's connected and not in use by other applications."

Solution

1. Close all PCMflash software;

2. Re-insert dongle to recognize;

3. Restart PCMflash software.

NOTE

Please ask your agency to activate account firstly if haven't.

Please DO NOT open multiple PCMflash software meanwhile.
